Entering the Inner Sanctuary
Enter this sanctuary time by settling down, becoming quiet, and breathing deeply a few breaths. Remind yourself you are in the Presence of Love. This place you are entering, within, is the inner Temple. Here, you are One with Spirit and all persons, and Nature. You may use a mantra, or prayer phrase, follow the breathing in-and-out, or witness the arising and falling of all around you as the manifestation of universal-Grace. Enjoy these moments of Quiet and come out when you are ready.

Spiritual Teaching
This morning, I recalled seeing yesterday a lizard in between my window and screen. I gave him time to find his way out. I had wrongly assumed he found his way in and, so, would find his way out.
So, this morning I saw him. He was moving, alive, and wanting out. I let out the window. I spoke to him, encouraging him to move toward freedom. He did. I am glad that I could give a kind, helping hand.

We are beings-together. Our nature is each unique, but communal. We need each other. We who give help are expressing oneness with others. And we express oneness by allowing others to help us.
My effectiveness and capacity to help have increased, as I have, likewise, realized in helping another I am helping myself. Also, that when kindly aiding someone, I am to be open to be helped in return.
The help in return will be different. For example, as a professional and spiritual-intuitive guide and healer in a jail setting, I, the Chaplain, cannot allow inmates to chaplain me. The professional boundary must remain in place. Yet, in small ways inmates often return help. This can be an encouraging word when one senses I am emotionally down, a smile, a prayer for me, or an expression of kindness and affirmation of my service. Part of their healing process is kindly sharing, and part of that is my allowing them to offer expressions of kindness to me.

What does it mean to be beings-together? How does that shape the way you see your purpose in this world? In giving? In receiving?
